An old furnace isn't always a dead furnace.
Plenty of no-heat calls come down to a small part. We’ll fix what’s actually broken, and only bring up replacement when the numbers say it’s time.

Before you call us
A few heating problems you can often fix yourself in a couple of minutes. Because Honestly. We’d rather tell you that than charge you for a visit.
Smell gas?
Don’t troubleshoot. Leave the house, then call 911 or your gas company from outside. Call us once you’re safe.
The furnace won't start
Call now if it’s freezing outside. Pipes can freeze in an unheated house.
Try this first
- The thermostat is on Heat, set above the room temperature, with fresh batteries.
- The furnace power switch is on. It looks like a light switch on or near the furnace.
- The front panel is fully closed. Furnaces won't run with it loose.
- The air filter isn't clogged.
What it usually is: a dirty flame sensor, a failed igniter or a tripped limit switch.
My heat pump runs nonstop in cold weather
Usually normal. Heat pumps run longer, not hotter, when it’s cold.
Check this
- The air filter is clean.
- Light frost on the outdoor unit that clears every so often is normal defrosting. A solid block of ice is not.
- The house is holding the temperature you set.
Call us if the house can’t stay warm or the outdoor unit stays iced over.
Some rooms are always too hot or too cold
Can wait. Book a visit when it suits you.
Try this first
- The vents in those rooms are open and not blocked by furniture or rugs.
- Return grilles aren't covered.
- The air filter is clean.
What it usually is: leaky or undersized ductwork. We measure the airflow and show you what’s wrong before suggesting anything.
Common questions
Do you work on every brand of furnace and boiler?
Yes. We service and repair all makes of residential and commercial heating equipment, including boilers.
How do you price a heating repair?
We find the problem first, then give you one price before any work starts. That price doesn’t change if the job takes longer than expected.
Why does my heat pump blow air that feels lukewarm?
That’s often normal. Heat pump air is usually around 90 to 100°F, cooler than the air from a gas furnace, so it feels warm rather than hot. If rooms aren’t reaching the temperature you set, call us.
How often should a furnace be serviced?
Once a year, ideally in the fall before the first cold snap. A yearly check catches worn parts and safety problems before they leave you without heat.
Do you come out at night when the heat goes out?
Yes. We answer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays.
Honest. Reviews
Was in a pinch on a holiday weekend with my HVAC issue and Steven came out on the spot and resolved my issue, even calling in a favor to make something happen on a Saturday… came in a rebuilt what was needed, friendly and knew what he was doing!
